History Of the Model
The Casida corporation's first truly successful model, The Centaur 331 was easily upgraded and modified to be faster than the stock model. While it seemed to be a doomed product because of it's small cargo capacity it actually thrived because of it. The ship was almost ignored by pirates and soon became the favorite of couriers who quickly modified the ships giving them better armament, armor and shields as well as sensors and Sub-light and FTL drives. The ships also have in some cases become military landers or light defense ships for planetary governments or colonies. The company decided to make an entire line built around the Ideas of the ship called the Centaur line. The 331 which lasted up to 50 years after their first production line is still sold across the known Galaxies, has been nicknamed, 'the little freighter that could,' because of its ability to go well beyond its original design.
